The Aim of Scouting Ireland is to encourage the physical, intellectual, character, emotional, social and spiritual development of young people so that they may achieve their full potential and, as responsible citizens, to improve society.

The Aim of the 55th Cork Carrigaline Scout Group is to enable young people in our community to achieve their potential through learning engagement in fun activities.

Our group was initially founded in 1976, and in its current form, represents the community after the amalgamation of the SAI and CBSI in 2004. We are open to all young people, boys and girls aged from 6 and 18 years of age. We currently have five sections Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Ventures and Rovers, each one managed by volunteer adult Scouters, who are fully trained in the Scouting Method. We are youth led, and the role of the adult Scouter is one of assisting, supporting, facilitating and motivating our youth members.

Our Scout Den is located beside the Owenabue car park. We hold section meetings most evenings and on many weekends. We are a non-formal, uniformed youth organisation, one group within the Scouting Ireland family of over 50,000 fellow Scouts and Scouters nationally.
