Ages 6–8 · 55th Cork Carrigaline
Beavers
Small steps. Big discoveries.
A playful introduction to Scouting, where children make friends, try new things and discover the outdoors together.
Adventure through play
Team games, nature walks and treasure hunts turn curiosity into discovery. Short camps and sleepovers offer a first taste of adventure away from home.
Skills to try
Simple knots, cooking and first aid introduce practical skills through hands-on activities. Badges recognise new skills and personal achievements.
Everyone takes a turn
Beavers work in small teams called Lodges. Children take turns as Lodge Leader and Assistant Lodge Leader, with adult Scouters helping them learn to work together.
What to expect
Beavers usually meet weekly during school terms. The programme supports each child’s confidence and development at their own pace.
These are examples from Scouting Ireland’s programme. Contact our group for current meeting times, places and planned activities in Carrigaline.
