Ages 12–15 · 55th Cork Carrigaline
Scouts
Plan it. Try it. Lead together.
Scouts develop independence and leadership through outdoor adventure, practical challenges and working together.
Adventure further
Hiking, water activities, expeditions and longer camps offer new challenges. Community projects put teamwork to use, while national events and jamborees offer opportunities to meet other Scouts.
Build skills for life
Camping, cooking, knots and first aid develop self-reliance. Personal challenges recognise progress according to each Scout’s abilities and interests.
Lead your patrol
Scouts work in Patrols with a Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader. With adult support, they plan meetings and camps, organise equipment, prepare meals and run activities.
What to expect
Scouts typically meet weekly during school terms, with some activities during the holidays. Young people take an active role in shaping their programme.
These are examples from Scouting Ireland’s programme. Contact our group for current meeting times, places and planned activities in Carrigaline.
The next adventure
Scouting Ireland describes moving to Ventures at fifteen or sixteen. Our Scouters can explain the transition for your Youth Member.
