Ages 9–11 · 55th Cork Carrigaline

Cubs

Cubs build on their curiosity, learning useful skills and discovering what they can achieve as part of a team.

Get outside

Hill walks, treasure hunts and camps bring Scouting skills to life. Community activities give Cubs a chance to help others.

Learn by doing

Games, knots, first aid and cooking help Cubs grow in confidence. Challenges and badges recognise progress in skills and personal development.

Have a say

Small teams called Sixes are led by a Sixer and Seconder, with children taking turns. Cubs help choose activities, plan camp menus and cook, supported by adult Scouters.

What to expect

Cubs usually meet weekly during school terms, with outdoor activities and camps extending the adventure.

These are examples from Scouting Ireland’s programme. Contact our group for current meeting times, places and planned activities in Carrigaline.

The next adventure

At around twelve, Cubs move on to Scouts and take on more responsibility.
